7 Days Jumbos & Beach Safari

After an airport or hotel pickup and breakfast briefing, depart for Amboseli National Park, celebrated worldwide for its resident elephant herds. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at the lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive, then dinner and overnight.

Spend the day exploring Amboseli’s swamp grounds, home to elephant and hippo in abundance, plus plains game and rich birdlife, with Mount Kilimanjaro often visible above the plains. Picnic lunches keep you out for the full day, returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you will be picked up at your Lodge and depart Amboseli for Diani and your beach holiday. We will drop you at Emali to connect with the AM train to Mombasa. On arrival at the Mombasa terminal you will be picked up and dropped at your Lodge or Hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast you will be picked up by your guide and proceed for snorkelling and scuba diving. Explore the coral gardens and look out for sea turtles and colourful reef fish at the Diani-Chale Marine National Reserve or Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park. Return to the Lodge or Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Sail on a traditional wooden dhow to spot dolphins and enjoy a seafood lunch near Wasini Island. All meals and overnight at the Lodge or Hotel.

A free day to spend on the beach and in the water at your own pace, with no fixed programme.

Optional activities can also be arranged at an extra cost:

• Kite surfing and windsurfing
• Colobus Conservation: visit the local sanctuary to see and learn about the endangered Angolan colobus monkey
• Shimba Hills National Reserve: take a short trip inland for a day safari to spot sable antelope, elephants and waterfalls

Your final day is flexible: connect with either the morning or afternoon train back to Nairobi depending on your flight home, or opt for an overnight in Nairobi to be closer to the airport. Let us know your preference in advance so we can arrange the details.
