Kenya's vast wilderness

Tsavo East National Park is Kenya’s largest national park, a huge expanse of open plains, red earth and scattered bush stretching across Taita-Taveta and Kitui counties. Together with Tsavo West it forms the Tsavo Conservation Area, the biggest protected wilderness in the country.

The Galana River cuts through the dry landscape and draws wildlife all year, while the Yatta Plateau, one of the longest lava flows in the world, runs along the park’s western edge. Big elephant herds, open views and very few other vehicles give Tsavo East a true sense of wilderness.
