The difference between glimpsing the Serengeti and actually spending time in it is one full day, and that is what this itinerary buys. Instead of passing through on the way to the crater, you go out early with picnic lunches and stay out, which is when the light is best and the predators are still working.
The Serengeti is one of very few places where all three African jackal species occur together, alongside spotted hyena and a range of smaller predators from the termite-eating aardwolf to the serval. The safari then drops into the Ngorongoro Crater before returning overland to Arusha and on to Nairobi by shuttle. Park entrance fees, accommodation, all meals on safari and a professional English-speaking guide are included throughout.
