7-Day of Untamed Wilderness

Your Wayvora Safaris representative meets you at the airport or your hotel for breakfast and a full safari briefing. You then transfer to the shuttle terminal for the morning bus to Arusha, crossing at Namanga and arriving in the afternoon or early evening. Your hotel is booked on bed and breakfast.

After breakfast you leave for Lake Manyara with lunch en route, arriving for a game drive through the park. Tree-climbing lions and large flamingo flocks are what it is known for, with elephant, buffalo and blue monkey in the groundwater forest below the escarpment. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite.

You leave after breakfast with a game drive on the way and a picnic lunch carried with you. The road runs west onto the plains past Seronera, with further game viewing in the afternoon before you reach your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

A full day out with picnic lunches. Beyond the resident big cats, watch for spotted hyena, aardwolf and serval, and for all three African jackal species, which occur together here and almost nowhere else. Mornings are the most active. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or campsite.

A final morning of game viewing as you work east to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, lunch taken on the road, arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge on the rim.

Your guide collects you for the descent to the crater floor, some 600 metres below the rim. The grassland and soda lake down there support one of the densest wildlife concentrations in Africa, seen from below the caldera walls rather than from above. Picnic lunch in the crater, then the climb out and the drive to Arusha, where your hotel is booked on bed and breakfast.

After breakfast you transfer to the shuttle terminal for the morning bus back to Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon for a drop at your hotel or the airport. Tell us in advance if you would rather be dropped at Arusha airport, for instance if you are continuing to Zanzibar.
